Find leads with the Lead Finder (profiles and candidates)

Build a Customer Profile with the AI assistant, then let it search Sales Navigator, judge people and import the good fits.

How the Lead Finder works

The Lead Finder does the searching and checking for you. It has two parts:

  1. A Customer Profile (also called a Lead Finder profile): a saved description of who you want to reach and who to avoid.
  2. A search run from a campaign, which finds people matching the profile, researches them and tells you how good a fit each person is.

Both parts use the AI assistant, so your space needs the assistant switched on. If a button is greyed out, hover over it: it explains why.

Build a profile

  1. In the left sidebar open Prospecting, then Customer Profiles.
  2. Click Build a profile with AI.
  3. The assistant reads what your space already knows (your campaign descriptions and your knowledge base) and asks only what it cannot work out itself. Answer its question cards or tell it what to change.
  4. It shows you the finished profile to confirm before it saves it. The whole conversation takes about five minutes.

A profile answers three questions:

  • Who to find: titles, seniority, function, industries, company size and type, countries, connection degree and keywords. These become the Sales Navigator search.
  • What to find out: things to research about each person, for example "check the annual report" or "look at their careers page". The assistant looks these up for every candidate.
  • Who to avoid: excluded industries and disqualifiers written as plain sentences. These are checked before anyone is called a fit.

Open Customer Profiles any time to see your profiles, open one to edit it and rename it, or delete it. A profile that campaigns still use must be removed from those campaigns before it can be deleted. Advanced Mode on a profile lets you edit its details by hand.

Attach a profile to a campaign

Pick the profile in Assets and leads when you create the campaign, or later under Edit Campaign. If a campaign has no profile, the candidates page offers Choose an ICP or Browse ICPs.

  1. Start your Companion app. The search runs through your LinkedIn account.
  2. Open the campaign, click Add Leads, then choose Find leads with AI.
  3. The assistant searches Sales Navigator, researches each company and person, judges every candidate and imports the good fits.

Searches are paced on purpose so they do not hit LinkedIn in bursts, so a larger search can take a minute or two. Only one search can run at a time per LinkedIn account. If another search is running, the page tells you which one and offers Cancel that search.

Review candidates

On the campaign, click Review AI candidates to open the candidates page. For each person you see their name, title, company, connection degree, a Verdict and a Why explanation. Verdicts are High fit, Medium fit, Low fit, No fit or Not judged. Judged people also get a tag (ICP-FIT-HIGH, ICP-FIT-MEDIUM or ICP-FIT-LOW) that you can filter by anywhere leads are listed.

The top of the page shows how many candidates there are, how many are judged and pending, the fit rate, and whether it meets the profile's fit bar.

What you can do:

  • Select candidates and choose Add to your campaign to move them into outreach.
  • Clear verdict to put people back in the queue to be judged again.
  • Remove to take candidates out of the pool.
  • Find more with AI to search again.
  • Judge pending with AI to judge people a previous search left unjudged, without searching for more.
  • Edit this ICP to change the profile.
  • Cancel to stop a running search. It stops at its next pause and keeps everything already found.

Good to know

  • Judging and research use AI credits. See Chat with AI, set up agents and understand credits.
  • A Lead Finder page also appears under Prospecting. It currently says it is coming soon. Use Customer Profiles and the campaign's Add Leads instead.
